Background on Florida House Bill 6025 (2025):
House Bill 6025/Senate Bill 952 repeals automatic prohibitions that violate Floridians’ Second Amendment rights during a state of emergency. The following acts are automatic prohibitions that this legislation repeals: the intentional possession of a firearm in public, the sale of any ammunition or firearms, and the intentional display of ammunition or firearms in a store.
By repealing this section, the new law ensures that lawful gun owners can still possess, carry, and buy firearms during declared emergencies—as long as they’re not committing a crime.
