(Carolina Journal) - A federal lawsuit involving the Confederate monument outside the Tyrrell County courthouse in Columbia is over. All parties submitted a stipulation of dismissal Thursday.
The parties “hereby stipulate that all claims pending in this action are voluntarily dismissed with prejudice,” according to the document. Dismissal “with prejudice” means the complaint cannot be refiled.
“The parties agree that each party will bear their own costs and fees for this action,” the document added.

Carolina Journal reported in June that monument critics and the county had reached a settlement in the dispute. A notice of settlement offered no details about the deal.
