Despite the Cold, Lee-Jackson Day Draws Crowd to Lexington (VA)

In Spite of Our state governments’ Woke Chicanery We Still Honor Our Heroes in Dixie
Despite Lee-Jackson Day no longer being recognized as a state holiday, dozens gathered at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington on Saturday to honor Confederate generals Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson and Robert E. Lee.
Brandon Dorsey, commander of the Stonewall Brigade SCV Camp, said, “This is to commemorate and honor those people that sacrificed just as we would a Vietnam veteran or World War II veterans.”
The event marked the 26th commemoration in Lexington and included a memorial service, a wreath-laying ceremony at “Stonewall” Jackson’s grave, and a parade down Main Street.
Attendees expressed their admiration for the two historical figures.
Alan Ellmore, a member of the Gordonsville SCV, said, “They get a bad rap for a lot of stuff, and these were leaders. What’s going on with the statues, it’s a shame. These were real heroes, they were real people.”
