The problem is, it's not a state vs. Federal issue, it's largely a rural, and in some cases suburban, vs urban issue. Having spent 20 years there I can tell you Atlanta has zero in common with the rest of Georgia except Braves coverage. The question in the divorce will be who gets the counties who may be in a "blue" state who vote red and who gets the major metropolitans in a red state.
