Off the Wall: The Six Types of Dog (Yes, this is all of them)
Try watching this without a tear in your eye.
I know exactly how Matt feels. Above is Dixie. She was a Hurricane Katrina rescue with a buttload of heartworms and an undying spirit of love. She got over the heartworms and stole our hearts. She owns them still. I miss her. - DD
Matt Mitchell: This is a love letter to every dog that’s ever lived in a Southern backyard, slept on a front porch, or curled up beside us like they owned the place. There may be only six kinds of Southern dogs, but one of them just might be the best dog you ever had.
Great post!
My heart is overflowing with "heart dogs". Working in rescue for years hardens some parts, but others just enlarge, like hearts. That's the only way the special ones all fit. There's a lot of those.
There's no doubt in my mind that God provided us with dogs because He knew our hearts would be troubled, and dogs were the perfect means of soothing us. And our hearts are where the bulk of them reside, anymore.
As the eloquent cowboy poet Will Rogers stated:
""If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."
Ditto that.
Onward, Christian soldiers!
