I braced myself for another doom and gloom post about how America is dying and we’re all going to be feral but instead I found a very heartening post. Thank you for this!
Been at it 20+ years, the list never goes away of "things needed".
Most people get focused on two things, food and guns. Not to discount either, but I'd take potable water and training over those two items every time.
I've been building-up stores of basic hardware and building stuff, 50# boxes of "OG" nails, screws, tools, plumbing and electrical, the kind of stuff if Home Depot went "poof" one could still build/repair stuff with.
Sandbags are cheap, versatile, and effective. You can't have too many. PITA to fill, but great if ya need 'em.
Large treble salt-water hooks on heavy leaders hung about 5' off the ground from trees in strategic locations really slow down night attackers. Just remember where you hung them.
The best time to start preparing was ten years ago, the second best time is right now.
