Michigan State Police are releasing new information about the man killed after holding an employee hostage at a Saginaw Township bank Friday, June 27.
MSP confirm with TV5 31-year-old Quinton Marquese Allen, from the Detroit area, took a Mercantile Bank employee hostage.
Lt. Kim Vetter with MSP tells TV5 Allen did not have a gun, adding he did have a weapon, but Vetter is not releasing what the weapon is at this time.
During the hostage situation, Vetter said a drone was used to lower a 24 oz. red Faygo pop in a bag to Allen. When Allen exposed himself, law enforcement could see him through the glass of the building. State Police said a trooper shot and killed Allen. MSP said Allen never grabbed the bag.
After he was shot, MSP said the hostage came out of the bank’s front door for help.
Saturday, June 28, MSP released that the victim was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. They were released overnight.
