The nation is essential to human flourishing, as it is the natural unit of human organization. This was discussed in “Race, Nation, and State” Part 1.
The nation, as an organizational principle, can not really be replaced by anything else. Anything other than the nation would have to be some sort of forced proximity against the persistent opposition of the parties involved. This was discussed in “Race, Nation, and State” Part 1.
The nation pre-exists the state. This was discussed at length in “Race, Nation, and State” Part 1.
The state must then preserve the nation, out of a fiduciary responsibility. This was also discussed in “Race, Nation, and State” Parts 1 and 3.
The reader might raise a rebuttal, drawing from “Race, Nation, and State” Part 3: does the state truly bear a duty to preserve the nation which founded it? After all, the citizenry exists as a synthetic nation in its own right. This is a reasonable…
