This is what happens when Christians are afraid to offend
Wake-up call!
A church that’s afraid to offend cannot save, command allegiance, inspire sacrifice, or offer truth.
Anew Pew study suggests the steep decline in Christianity is finally “leveling off,” as if that’s a cause for celebration. It’s not. The damage is done. Entire generations have grown up with no real catechesis, no spiritual formation, and no sense of the sacred.
But make no mistake: This isn’t happening because the church refused to modernize. It’s happening because it did.
For decades, the great institutions of Western Christianity traded clarity for relevance and truth for tone. Sermons stopped warning and started pandering. The word “sin” was quietly retired, considered too sharp for modern ears. In its place came talk of “journeys,” “growth,” and whatever else kept the collection plate full. The church, once feared by tyrants and hated by the powerful, rebranded itself as a wellness center with great art.
The cross became a prop. The sacraments became optional. The faith became a product: Clean, inoffensive, entirely forgettable.
It wasn’t outreach — it was surrender.
Internal sabotage

It's not just Christianity. It's everything. The empire eats everything and craps out a benign sanitized version that meets It's ends. The original Christianity is nothing akin to the Nicene or Arian church of the third century. Those were a sanitized watered down version to gain Barbarian converts and Roman hearts and minds galvanizing what remained of the empire.
Let's look in more recent times. The blues and Rock n' Roll are awesome. Seventies yacht rock was garbage. Punk and Metal are awesome. Pop punk, Emo, Screamo, Nü Metal all garbage. Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, and Marvel Comics awesome. Rings of Power, Disney+ Star Wars and Marvel stuff garbage.
It's what the power structure does. It takes anything that's inspiring to the people and threatening to it, eats it, and craps out a safe, sanitized version that supports it's stances and needs. Usually charges you for it too.
