“Liberals” now support political murder
Well, here are some interesting poll numbers.
According to the Network Contagion Research Institute, some 55 percent of self-described “liberals” contend that it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Donald Trump, and another 48 percent that it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk.
I realize that anarcho-capitalists can argue back and forth about the punishments politicians deserve, but in practice I doubt anyone would really want to live in a society in which political murder was the norm.
Elon Musk is a businessman. It is possible to disagree with him. But to say, “I’d like to live in a society in which a random assassin could murder him and get away with it,” is quite another thing.
When Donald Trump was first elected, some people adopted a triumphalist position: we are now in a position of strength, and shall proceed to vanquish our enemies.
The left is going to be a tougher nut to crack than that. They have been driven into a frenzy by the propagandists they listen to.
So yes, you may need that international Plan B after all, and national divorce may still need to be on the table.
