Not sure how much Trump cares about this (although if Elon Musk gets in their corner they might have a chance at getting US support). American policy has always been anti-secession across the world except in what they deem to be extraordinary circumstances (i.e. Kosovo or South Sudan). In my view this is a gamble, but considering the factors like Musk being South African and interested in the plight of the persecuted peoples there, its a gamble worth taking.
This has been brewing a long time down there. I see them having at least a tacit supporter in Elon. The shite going down in SA is why his family immigrated.
This is natural effort of Boers trying to save a portion of thier world and prevent another blood soaked Rhodesia fiasco. (Which was courtesy of Europe and US liberals just like the SA downfall)
