Yep. Lived a few months on Canal Street. Couldn’t wait to leave. As I grew up I realized I ain’t lost a d*** thing there if it wasn’t for Memorial Hall, the Audubon Zoo and that cool antigue arms shop on Royal Street.
I know I’m gonna piss somebody off but it’s the only place I ever seen ‘improved’ by a hurricane and flooding. :)
It definitely cleared up the city and Houston jails overflowing with idiots who thought they would get out after shooting someone like they did here. But like I said I had one part of the family watching the others coming up the river for the first time so it’s hard to leave our family native lands. I love the old Confederate museum was were I got all my metal soldiers for the first Battle of Bull Run . I was born raised and I will die in my city no matter how bad it gets we’re all ready for it to go down, growing up in Belle Chasse the old men told us that we have the right and duty to blockade our parish to the feds cuz they did it after Betsy and Camille destroyed almost everything but we still had segregation in our schools cuz they didn’t take the money
Mardi Gras starts with parades every day till Fat Tuesday,
Yep. I realized long ago that is the season for packin’ heat :)
Growing up partying in Nola when we were the murder capital and survived cuz it’s always the season
