Great job that’s what I taught my sons about the real history of the South and the Civil War was cuz they didn’t want to go the same direction as the north and we would be so much better off if we had won then we wouldn’t be dealing with this bullshit cuz Southerns are still more patriotic and constitution purists which means that doctrine is perfectly written and if not that’s why we ratify amendments !

Brilliant observation. I'm writing a historical novel about the Founders, and I greatly appreciate this insight -- that the Confederacy thought it was defending the Constitution's principles. Thank you.
